[004] - playing old minecraft

hey!

i wanted to talk about old minecraft, even though i haven't played it for even one whole month yet i've really enjoyed my time with it. i've gotten so many ideas for what to do with my world that i didn't get when i was playing the newer, more modern versions of minecraft.

i do love the newer up-to-date versions of the game, the stuff you can do in it is incredible and there's so much to do, but there's stuff about the older versions that appeals to me more.

the main thing for me at least is that there's no end goal. in the version i'm playing on (beta 1.7.3), there's no ender dragon or elytras or even structures like villages and fortresses. it's just you, the trees, and alot of caves. i just feel less overwhelmed and more willing to do really dumb stuff, like replace all of the grass in a giant forest with crafting tables or building a giant cobblestone sphere in the middle of nowhere..

if you want to try out beta or even alpha minecraft, in the official minecraft launcher go to settings --> general --> show historical versions of minecraft: java edition, if you're like me and use either multiMC or prism launcher, when you create a new instance you should be able to click "beta" or "alpha", then when you make a new instance or installation and scroll really far down you should see them!

these versions aren't for everyone but i encourage you to at least give it a try and see if you do like it, that's how i got started with it at least and i've really enjoyed it since then!
